Looking for strength training in London with expert guidance and a personalised approach?

Hi, I'm Nicolina, a personal trainer specialising in strength training programmes designed to help you build strength, improve mobility, and build confidence in movement that carries into every part of your life.

Whether you're new to resistance training or looking to take your workouts to the next level, my coaching focuses on proper technique, progressive overload and sustainable results.

Strength training is more than just lifting weights. You're making a long-term investment into your health and sustainable habits. I truly believe that anyone who is able to lift weights should do it.

Why Lift

Benefits of Strength Training

Build Lean Muscle

Strength training helps develop lean muscle, which improves overall body composition and strength.

Optimise Metabolism

Muscle tissue burns more calories than fat, helping your body burn more calories day-to-day.

Improve Bone Strength

Resistance training stimulates bone growth and helps protect against bone loss.

Improve Balance & Mobility

Strength exercises support joint stability and reduce injury risk.

Support Cognitive Health

Studies suggest resistance training may help improve memory and cognitive function, potentially reducing the risk of dementia and Alzheimer's.

Boost Mental Health

Lifting with intention can act as its own form of mindfulness and gives you a sense of achievement over time.

Strength Training for Every Stage of Life

01

Strength Training for Beginners

If you're new to resistance training, starting with proper guidance is essential. My strength training programmes for beginners focus on:

  • Learning proper lifting technique
  • Building confidence in the gym
  • Developing full-body strength
  • Improving mobility and stability
  • Creating structured workout habits
02

Strength Training for Women

Many women worry that strength training will make them bulky, but the reality is that achieving a very defined muscular look simply doesn't happen by accident. My strength training programmes for women focus on:

  • Improving strength and confidence
  • Personalised exercises around specific goals
  • Supporting long-term health
  • Creating sustainable fitness habits
03

Strength Training Over 40

Strength training becomes even more important as we age. Research shows that muscle and bone gradually decline over time. However, regular resistance training can significantly slow these changes. Strength training can support:

  • Bone health
  • Metabolism
  • Strength and mobility
  • Long-term independence

Strength Training for Busy Brains

If you are neurodivergent or navigating an intense job, things can be difficult to keep on track. I am neurodivergent myself and live with an autoimmune illness. I have juggled strength training with a senior corporate job for many years. My programmes for neurodivergent individuals focus on:

  • Coaching the fundamentals, including names of weights and equipment
  • Exercise cues delivered in clear language
  • Added flexibility with sessions or modifications
  • Help developing habits that work with your brain

Common Questions

FAQ

Is strength training good for beginners?+
Yes. Strength training is highly beneficial for beginners when performed with proper guidance and a structured programme.
How many times per week should I do strength training?+
Most people benefit from 2–4 strength training sessions per week, depending on their goals and experience level.
Do I need heavy weights to start strength training?+
No. Beginners can start with bodyweight exercises or light resistance and gradually progress over time.
Can I do strength training if I have a bad back?+
In most cases, yes. Strength training done with good technique can actually help reduce back pain by building the muscles that support your spine. Existing injuries are always taken into account when building your programme.
Do I need my own gym membership to train with you?+
No. Sessions take place at Axiom Fit in EC1V and 54 FIT on Charlotte Street, so no separate membership is needed and the cost of the studio is included in the pricing plan.
